The ascension of Jesus can feel strangely quiet compared to the rest of the story. We tend to remember the sharp edges: the cross, the empty tomb, the early morning surprise. But the ascension is a different kind of moment. It is not dramatic in the same way, not violent, not chaotic. It is weighty, yes, and emotional, but also strangely final.
